Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - 'Blossom'

6/10

Since leaving his original outfit Gallows back in 2011, frontman Frank Carter has been keeping himself busy. After a short lived collaboration with former Hope Conspiracy guitarist Jim Carroll under the guise Pure Love, Carter has been hard at work on his latest project Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Seen as more of a solo venture, Carter has brought his usual venom to this explosive punk release that still shows he has something to say.

Always one to speak his mind through a veil of high-energy rock anthems, the frontman delivers the same emotionally-motivated lyrics that made him such an attractive vocalist in the first place. And with never a dull moment on this new release, you really feel that Carter has finally managed to do something on his own terms and with his own pace.

While it may not have the instantly memorable hooks as some of his previous works, 'Blossom' seems to care very little about what you might think of it. It does what it wants, when it wants, and ultimately creates the perfect attitude for Frank's own despondent demeanour.
