After spending the last few months building and cultivating his sound, Italian singer-songwriter Alex Aureo is now ready to introduce himself to the wider world with his captivating debut single 'Swear To Defend'.
Channelling a wonderfully rich and alluring aesthetic for his initial offering, 'Swear To Defend' makes for a dazzling introduction to his sound so far. With his warm and tender vocals spread across a passionate acoustic-led production throughout, he is kicking things off with a wildly enjoyable opening number here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
I first fell in love with the electric guitar. There's something incredibly powerful and expressive about it that drew me in from the start.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
When I was younger, I was really into punk music. The raw energy and rebellious spirit resonated with me. Over time, my tastes expanded to include pop, rock, and the classic sounds of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams.
What was the first album you remember owning?
The first album I remember owning was a punk rock compilation that featured various bands I admired. It was a collection of the raw, energetic music that I loved during my formative years.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
If I had to choose one song I wished I could have written, it would be "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. The lyrics, the melody, the storytelling – it all comes together perfectly.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Yes, I do have a few rituals. I like to start with a quiet environment and strum my guitar to get into the creative zone. Sometimes, I'll light a candle or sit by the window to let the natural light and atmosphere inspire me. I also find that taking walks through the streets of Rome helps clear my mind and spark new ideas.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Lately, I've been listening to a mix of artists. I've been really into Lewis Capaldi and Benson Boone because their styles and creativity resonate with me and inspire my own music.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
If I could open a show for anyone, it would be Bruce Bryan Adams. It would be an incredible honor to share the stage with someone who has been such a huge influence on my musical journey.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
The most rewarding part is connecting with people through my music. When someone tells me that my song touched them or inspired them, it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Creating something that resonates with others is incredibly fulfilling.
And what is the most frustrating part?
The most frustrating part can be the self-doubt and perfectionism. There are times when you second-guess your work or feel like it's not good enough. Pushing through those moments and staying true to your vision can be challenging.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
The best advice I've received is to stay authentic and true to yourself. Don't try to fit into a mold or chase trends. Create music that reflects who you are, and the right audience will find you.
