After years of transformation, turbulence, and tenacity, Irish post-punk outfit BODIES return with 'Ores', a visceral, unrelenting album that doesn’t shy away from the hard truths. Following the release of their teaser single ‘Health’ in June, the Dublin-based collective have resurfaced stronger and sharper than ever, unleashing an eleven-track opus that fuses crushing post-punk intensity with melodic indie-rock undercurrents and poetry drenched in pain and purpose.
At the heart of 'Ores' is frontman David Anthony’s dual reckoning, with his own declining health and the visible disintegration of Ireland’s social systems. The album is as much a personal outcry as it is a social commentary, tackling themes of homelessness, institutional collapse, and chronic illness with both fury and vulnerability. Rather than offering neat resolutions, BODIES demand that listeners sit with the discomfort, and perhaps find clarity in the chaos.
With a history marked by critical acclaim, a life-altering accident, and a rebirth through collaboration and resilience, BODIES have emerged once again to challenge, provoke, and captivate. So with the album available now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and influences over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Guitar. The greatest instrument ever created.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Primarily angsty rock music – Korn, Nirvana etc but I was also pretty into gangta rap, grime, garage and folk music. My parents didn’t really listen to music so I didn’t have much bias. Just a sponge for whatever I could get my hands on.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Definitely Maybe by Oasis
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Dumb by Nirvana, we released a cover last year.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I just sit down every day and write something no matter how uninspired I feel or how much it feels like the songs suck.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
The Murder Capital's new album is incredible and I’ve been listening to loads. Cranes are a band I recently discovered I’ve been listening to a lot. They were around in the 90’s but got back together recently. Been listening to Trauma Ray and Julie recently also. Nilüfer Yanya has been on my rotation for months (maybe years?) Her guitar playing is so great.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Suuns
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Making the music I never thought I’d have enough talent or skill to make. I like listening back to this album. I think teenage me would be very proud.
And what is the most frustrating part?
How little money there is.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
If you can’t sing you can always learn.
