What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

That's a hard one. The first instrument I felt a lust for was drums, I used to play them in church and it was my first experience of performing music. As my taste developed I fell in love with guitar.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

I would say I used to listen to a mixture of pop, trap, hip hop music like Imagine Dragons, Kings of Leon and My Chemical Romance, and grime artists like 6 7, Aj Tracey, Skepta. I used to bang out Konechiwa in my dad's car.

What was the first album you remember owning?

I don’t think I ever owned an album, I was a YouTube baby. I used to sit for hours listening to music on YouTube and finding new music rather than owning physical copies. I would say an album that resonates with my teen year is Lil Peep Hell Boy.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

I would say Adele “Someone Like You” as it is truly iconic and known the world over. I would also say Lukas Graham “7 years”.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I tend to do a lot of scattering and mumbling on the beats and listen to a lot of music, my unreleased tracks and old obscure songs by other artists to get inspired. I also talk sentences in reverse to create melodies.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

At the moment I would say Kevin Smiley, Noah Kahan and Sam Barber, Clever and Next Spend,Dexter and the Moon Rocks and Frosty too. Black Marbles are always a constant on my playlist.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

If I could open a show for anyone in the world. It would be Juice Wrld or David Bowie.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

When you actually bring an idea into fruition and it actually sounds exactly how you want it to sound in every aspect.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Writer's block is always the most frustrating part, because the ideas are there but it's like there's a zip on your mouth keeping it shut.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Just keep going and the songs are not actually for you to like but you can still like them.
