Faith-based singer-songwriter Brenique Adams introduces her new EP 'Oasis', a reflective five-track project that blends pop, gospel, soul, and R&B into a calm, uplifting listening experience. Rooted in themes of faith, identity, and renewal, the release marks a deeply intentional chapter for Brenique that invites listeners to pause, reflect, and reconnect with a sense of hope.
At the heart of the EP is the focus track 'Light', an anthemic and emotionally resonant song born from a period of self-doubt. Beginning with a gentle, introspective tone before rising into a soaring, gospel-tinged chorus, the track mirrors the journey from uncertainty to self-belief, delivering a message of encouragement and inner strength.
So with the new EP out now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and what has been inspiring her most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The acoustic guitar. I got my first instrument at 17, and since then it’s always been a core part of my music journey.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I grew up listening to Kirk Franklin, Kierra Sheard, Jonathan McReynolds. They inspired me deeply, and I’ve always wanted to create music that speaks to people’s hearts the way theirs did.
What is one song you wish you could have written yourself?
“I’ll Find You” by Lecrae featuring Tori Kelly. Every time I listen to it, it takes me on an emotional journey. That’s exactly how I want people to feel when they hear my music.
Do you have any habits or rituals when writing new music?
I like to listen to music that inspires me and spend time journaling my emotions. Writing things down helps me process what I’m feeling and translate that into my songs.
Who are your favourite artists at the moment?
Right now, I’ve been listening to Madison Ryann Ward, Sstedi, and Sondae. Their music feels incredibly relatable, you can almost feel like it’s speaking directly to you.
If you could open a show for anyone, who would it be?
I would love to open for Limoblaze.
What do you find most rewarding about being a musician?
Being able to touch people’s lives through music. Everyone is going through different seasons, and I hope my music can be a place of comfort, happiness, and safety for them.
And what is the most frustrating part?
As an emerging artist, gaining access to certain platforms can be challenging, and music promotion can be expensive. It’s a tough part of the journey, but I often remind myself that it’s all part of the process.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received as a musician?
To stay true to myself.-
