Getting To Know... Daniela

Independent artist Daniela returns with ‘Bésame’, a flirty, sensual single that captures the rush of new attraction and the magic of living fully in the moment. Blending subtle R&B textures with Latin and tropical pop influences, the track is built on warm guitar lines, layered percussion, and looping rhythms that mirror the trance-like pull of chemistry on the dancefloor.

Born in Mexico City and now based in Texas, Daniela has steadily shaped a genre-fluid catalogue rooted in emotional clarity and Latin-infused modern pop, with previous releases including ‘Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá’, ‘Contigo’, ‘HOSTAGE’, and ‘UNFORGETTABLE’. After taking a creative pause in 2025 to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she returns with renewed focus and performance depth, reinforcing her commitment to authenticity and storytelling.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and what has been inspiring her most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Saxophone (never played it, still my favourite instrument) it just itches my brain right.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Hmm I think I’ve always been a pop fan. The divas for sure: Whitney, Celine Dione, Donna Summer usually big pop ballads I’d say.

What was the first album you remember owning?

The first album I remember owning was Avril Lavinge’s ‘Complicated’.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Flowers by Miley Cyrus.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I am a big fan of letting the song find its way; meaning if I have an initial idea but it turns into something else, as long as it is better than what I had in mind, I will not try to make it a certain way. I love recording voice notes when inspiration hits, and then listen to them in car until something clicks.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I find myself going back to Rihanna and Amy Winehouse quite a lot.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Ooh right now, Dua Lipa or Bad Bunny.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

The community and connection with the listeners/audience . I love that I have the opportunity to create a space where people feel welcome regardless of any kind of background.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Self-promoting and admin work jajaja I am just not so good at it!

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Trust your instincts, and “You’ll never get to hear yourself the way other hear you, as long as you are on pitch, let it go”.
