What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
A little plastic children guitar. Then when I broke it, I continued with piano.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
My all time favourites were Mika & The Black Eyed Peas.
What was the first album you remember owning?
A CD of Queen.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Love Of My Life - Freddie Mercury
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I first go to the piano and look for some chords or a vibe, but then I don’t touch it again until I have a full verse or chorus.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Dua Lipa, Stromae, Marco Mengoni, Maneskin.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
When you get a message like "today I had a really bad day and your song gave me a little push“, "thank you for this beautiful story“, „an absolute banger“, etc. When I get direct feedback and I’m able to see if I’m actually standing for something.
And what is the most frustrating part?
At the moment, we live in a “fast-living“ society. Noone really takes time to appreciate what we have, and that sometimes less is more. Dogma rules the world. A lot of people in deciding positions are there for the money, not for the music, art or social impact.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
There’s two kind of person you need to be and you need to divide them: the artist & the business-guy.
