With over six million streams to their name and publications like NME, Nylon, The Guardian, Nylon and many more praising their work so far, Hugh are back to their best once again as they deliver their newest single 'Walk It Off'.
Lifted from their soon-to-be-announced third album, 'Walk It Off' sees them return with a rich and diverse new offering. Working in collaboration with Bonjay, the outfit's latest gem channels the bold and atmospheric direction of acts like Massive Attack through a lens of ethereal electronics and a brooding direction.
So with their new single flying up the streaming charts of late, we sat down with Josh of the band to find out more about his origins and what has inspired him most over the years.

What were the first instruments you fell in love with?
Saxophone but I learned to play the violin because I have no breath control.
What has been the most prominent inspiration behind your music so far?
Appeggios, Synthwave, R&B.
What kind of music did you love as teenagers?
Oh R&B/Hip Hop and UK Dance was me to a T. Standard.
Can you remember the first song that made you want to pursue a life in music?
Antibalas, Pay back Africa. I wrote a poem to it and posted it on Myspace, lol.
When you wake up in the morning, what kind of music do you like to listen to?
Usually, Soundtrack scores. Hans Zimmer. Classical Choir music, Requiem.
How many of your songs have you written about people in your life?
Three.
What have been the most memorable moments in your career so far?
SXSW 2018. Actually all of 2018 was a vibe.
Outside of music, what are your biggest passions?
I love video games and walking and geek culture in general.
If you weren’t musicians, what other path do you think you might have taken?
I’d probably be a bartender.
And what advice would you give to those looking to start a career in music?
Start now and fail often. Do everything. Never let money motivate you solely. Get a side hustle.
