After spending the last few years building and developing his distinctive direction, emerging newcomer J-Summa is now ready to introduce himself to the wider world with his sultry debut single 'Heaven And Home'.

Capturing a wonderfully warm and dreamy soul-inspired sound throughout, 'Heaven And Home' makes for a beautifully alluring introduction to his style. Filled with rich and luxurious textures, a sweeping atmosphere, and his own mesmerising vocals at the helm, he has cultivated a truly memorable opening number here.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has inspired him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Guitar, and I’m still in love with it.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Gospel, R&B, reggae.

What was the first album you remember owning?

I think it was an album by the mighty clouds of joy.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Let's Stay Together by Al Green

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Hhmmm, no rituals. Each song is unique and how it’s born is unique to each song.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

U2

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Being able to share my music with my listeners, being able to celebrate their happiness and being there to comfort them through their sorrows with my music is the ultimate reward.

And what is the most frustrating part?

The process is as rewarding as it is frustrating, after all you can’t have day without night.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Believe in yourself, believe in your team and never stop.
