What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

Anything electronic. So I guess the computer.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

I loved pop music, anything I could listen to that had a banging chorus, I probably loved. My dad listened to a lot of folk music, which I loved too.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Born this way, by Lady Gaga, was the first album I ever went out and purchased. I even faked an illness to stay home from school to go get it.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

I wish I wrote Vogue by Madonna. Such an iconic song.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Not at all, I’m very chaotic when I write new songs. Sometimes I don’t even know how to finish them.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I love Ethel Cain right now, and I’ve been deep into Rosalia for a while, I think she’s a genius musician.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

I’d love to open for Aurora. I think my music would fit in quite well.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

People telling you your song helped them. That is absolutely priceless.

And what is the most frustrating part?

The industry overall is full of pretentious fake people. The networking part is absolutely ghastly.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

If you think of yourself as a star, people will follow.
