Getting To Know... Çâline with C

Amsterdam-based multidisciplinary artist, producer, and DJ Çâline with C steps into a new phase of her creative journey with the release of her latest single 'Second Wind', a track that signals a striking shift toward a more refined, self-assured sound. Originally from Lithuania and now building an international presence, Çâline with C has become known for blending technical precision with emotional depth, drawing on her background in psychoacoustics and sonology to craft immersive yet accessible music.

With 'Second Wind', she pivots from the high-energy, experimental edge of her earlier work into something softer and more introspective. Rooted in the hip-hop, rap, and R&B influences of her youth, the track carries a relaxed confidence, exploring themes of independence, clarity, and personal growth. Produced alongside Amsterdam-based collaborator Raoul Nieuwendam, the single reflects a shared love of hip-hop culture while embracing a more stripped-back, emotionally direct approach.

So with the new single available now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and what has been inspiring her most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I have played piano since I was 7 years old and I remember loving the violin very much.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Hiphop and R&B

What was the first album you remember owning?

Jennifer Lopez - On the 6

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Kali Uchis - Moonlight

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Writing inspiration comes to me from my life, so I put effort into setting my life together the way that I like, reflect on my wants/needs and work towards that - it gives me confidence as an artist to present myself like “hell yea I am here and I wanna share what I learned” type of thing. So, writing songs is like keeping a public diary; its for sure very personal cause I sing about events that happen to me, how I develop and grow. Also I need to feel sexy, be moisturized and hydrated, but that’s just the basis for everyday existence tbh.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

I like to listen to music with an attitude because we girls need it to go through life. I have so much love for Memphis rappers Le Chat & Gangsta Boo. Recently, I have discovered artists like Lei B and CinSatio (she is BAD). I love dancehall queen Spice, and lots of great Ugandan artists: Pallaso, Ziza Bafana, Kapeke, Ava Peace.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Ke$ha

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

For me it’s to feel like myself and feel free.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Sometimes it’s frustrating when I need to do other things when all I want to do is just be in the studio and make music.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

To be consistent. And my addition to that would be to not take yourself too seriously, have fun and just keep going.
