What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I remember hearing the piano & immediately feeling a strong sense of tranquility. Everything from the arrangement to the notes made me want to learn more about music. Eventually, I learned how to play the trumpet in middle school but now I like hearing the saxophone a lot.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Funny enough, I used to listen to only alternative rock & pop when I was younger. The electric guitar & how the vocals would pierce through the song, it was my first introduction to music. I also really liked early R&B thanks to my older sister who would play Jazmine Sullivan in the car all the time.

What was the first album you remember owning?

The first album I physically owned was "Good Kid Maad City" by Kendrick Lamar. It was gifted to me as a birthday gift on my 23rd & I like listening to it whenever I'm in a transitional period of my life. Each song flowing to the next & the lyricism really caught my attention.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Damn, that's a hard one! If I had to pick one song, maybe Acid Rain by Chance the Rapper. When I first heard it in high school, it opened me up to being vulnerable & honest with my emotions. His cadence & delivery gave me insight that you can really approach music however you like.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Definitely! I'm very spiritual so for each song/project, the approach has to be centered around mindfulness. From what I eat to what I read, it helps me to feel more confident in my abilities. I would say 1 ritual I do is journaling my thoughts/emotions before a studio session. That way, I can look back & see where the source of energy was from.

Who are your favorite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

As of recently, I've been listening to Denzel Curry, PARTYNEXTDOOR, J. Cole, Ab-Soul, and Brent Faiyaz. All of their sounds are so unique and I love driving around bumping their music.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Oooh, I would say Childish Gambino. His music catalogue is astounding & I feel my intention of art/music would resonate with his audience. I would love to collaborate with him one day.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Easily when someone gives insight on what they experienced when listening to your music. Sometimes as creatives, we aren't fully present with what we're doing & those conversations are treated as reminders that people connect to what we say on a deeper level.

And what is the most frustrating part?

I think this would be the internal dialogue & conflict I face every day. A lot of times, the final product required hundreds of failures so having the determination & focus when coursing through obstacles can be frustrating.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as an artist?

Someone told me "you are who you say are" and that always stuck with me. I struggle with perception at times but that piece of advice gave me clarity on how I feel about myself as an artist & human. After that, I felt more comfortable being myself & not afraid to try something new!

Tell us about your new release 'EXPLORE' and the production process behind it.

My single "EXPLORE" dives into rediscovering yourself through new experiences & challenges. It's not just about being in an unfamiliar place—it's about stepping into your element, and trusting that your heart will guide you. During the process, I was undergoing a metamorphosis where I felt disconnected from everything & needed to find my foundation. After the final studio session, I felt confirmed that this is my new direction. With special help from Moneá, Solomon Dixon, and The King Image, I was able to make this come to life.

Are there any exciting upcoming releases, projects or things you'd like to shout about this year?

I'm currently finishing up an album titled "ASCENSION" set to release this year! This year is about abundance & moving with our light.
