Getting To Know... Petros Fuzzhead

Following on from a string of enticing releases throughout the last year, Greek artist Petros Fuzzhead has now returned to deliver his latest atmospheric offering 'Lobotomy'.

Channelling the same broad and breezy textures as Radiohead, 'Lobotomy' makes for a wonderfully dense and vivid listen. Filled with pulsing tones, vibrant hooks, and some haunted vocals layered from start to finish, this new release will certainly serve him well in the months ahead.

So with the new single available now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has inspired him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I guess that would be the piano ‘cause you got to get the sound you imagined instantly at the press of a button...

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

When I was a teenager I used to listen to almost any kind in the rock genre but mostly I remember I loved trash metal a lot and especially Metallica, Slayer and Sepultura, as well as some punk rock such as The Ramones or The Clash and some classic rock stuff such as Deep Purple, Rainbow, The Doors, Pink Floyd and things like that... then, there were The Pixies, The Cure and U2 for me... and after a little while there were Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Pj Harvey and Smashing Pumpkins...

What was the first album you remember owning?

This must have been the “Master Of Puppets” by Metallica.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

February Stars by the Foo Fighters.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Not really... I’m just grabbing my guitar usually and start jamming... somewhere in the process new ideas might emerge and that’s why I got my phone nearby to record what might be interesting enough to work on...

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Mogwai, Pj Harvey, Audioslave, dEUS, The Beatles...

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Definitely Foo Fighters...

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

To get to know and feel that people can relate somehow to your music... that’s what this is all about I guess...

And what is the most frustrating part?

Not being able to perform live and communicate your music with the people... what we experience nowadays with the covid pandemic and all these, it’s very hard to deal with... we miss this interaction...

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Just be yourself, enjoy the trip and the rest will follow...
