Bringing back the pulse of the UK underground with undeniable energy, Coventry MC Skatta and London-based Hungarian producer Yeti On The Pads (YOTP) return with their brand-new single 'Getting Ready', a high-octane UK garage/grime anthem that sets the tone for their latest EP 'For The Ravers'.
Packed with infectious beats, rapid-fire bars, and that unmistakable pre-party adrenaline, the track is a love letter to UK rave culture and the rituals that lead up to a night of pure release.
So with the new track doing the rounds, we catch up with Skatta and YOTP to discuss their origins and influences over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Skatta: Bass guitar.
YOTP: My MPC.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Skatta: Grew up on the Beatles, Bob Marley, The Gorillaz, Eminem, Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Kano.
YOTP: 70s breakfunk and 90s HipHop.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Skatta: The first album I remember owning on CD was the Eminem 8 Mile Soundtrack (2002).
YOTP: Afu-Ra - Body Of The Life Force.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Skatta: MF DOOM - Monkey Suite.
YOTP: Ill Al Skratch - Where My Homiez.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Skatta: Yes I normally think of a concept then get ideas and words and scenarios around the subject together, meditate on it, then get stuck in sometimes I start with a chorus or a verse first depends on the flow state of mind and what style of beat it is.
YOTP: I need to hear new tunes. If I really like something and gets me gassed, the spark is already there.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Skatta: Roots Manuva, MF DOOM, Wiley, Bob Marley, Sizzla, Gorillaz, J Dilla, The Alchemist, Erykah Badu.
YOTP: Jah Digga.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Skatta: Eminem.
YOTP: Flowdan.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Skatta: Being able to express myself creatively through words and beats and the journey from nothing to something meeting new people, performing shows, uplifting and representing those who don’t have a voice.
YOTP: It’s an internal journey, as much as it is about showing yourself.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Skatta: Breaking through the noise.
YOTP: You need to learn a lot and it takes time. No overnight successes here.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Skatta: Aim high, Look after your physical, spiritual and mental health and stay grounded in the process.
YOTP: Consistency/ being professional beats talent. Soft skills are very important.
