There is little danger of Spin Class standing still. Since releasing their debut EP 'Wednesday' in late 2024, the Bristol four-piece have followed it with 'Dinner at Derek’s', attracted support from BBC Introducing and Apple Music, and kicked off 2026 with a sold-out hometown show at The Louisiana.
Their latest single ‘Rip ‘N’ Dip’ captures that momentum at full force. Recorded live with producer Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, the track begins as a slow-burning exercise in tension before erupting into a thunderous finale of fuzz-heavy guitars, commanding vocals and an irresistible rhythm section. There are shades of Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood within its muscular attack, but Spin Class are increasingly developing a character that refuses to settle comfortably into any established rock category.
So with the new single out now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and what has been inspiring them most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Harry’s first instrument was the Kazoo, he almost got to grade 8 until his dad told him to “stop that racket” and got him a drum kit instead.
Louis took a liking to the Bassoon, but it didn’t get him as many girls as he was hoping, so opted for the guitar.
Sonny has a twin, when they first started learning instruments, there was a big fight over who would learn the bass and who would learn the guitar, it’s safe to say our resident cowboy won the draw and refuses to touch a bass even now.
Sam tried a myriad of instruments until the bass found him. To ease into it he was on rhythm bass but has quickly earned himself the title of Spin Class’ lead bass guitarist.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
We’ve all been brought up on a load of different music, all guitar music from the 60s to the 90s and onwards, some jazz and world music and Harry’s partial to a bit of Kylie Minogue. Madonna’s his idol…. His hair’s not naturally blonde I hate to tell you!
What was the first album you remember owning?
Louis’ first and most loved album was a compilation of hymns sung by Bath Abbey Boy’s Choir. He’ll tell you it was Led Zeppelin 3…. He’s lying.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Happy Birthday is a timeless classic. We’d love to buy the rights one day.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
We listen to so much, it’s hard to pin it down! Die Spitz are awesome, we’ve been blasting “Throw Yourself To The Sword” for most of the summer.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
There are so many awesome artists we’d be grateful to open for - we recently had the privilege of opening for Shane Hawkins and The Alive at Bristol’s very own Thekla! That’s one we won’t forget!
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
The people you get to meet and work with! We’ve been so lucky not only to work with our best mates everyday within the band, but also the community. We get to constantly keep meeting and collaborating with beautiful, talented people who have substantial projects in their own right. The fans we’ve begun accumulating are the best too, absolute die-hards that feed off and return an immense amount of energy! We can’t complain!
And what is the most frustrating part?
It can be tricky doing this completely independently around a 9-5. We hold Dolly close every day when we pour ourselves a cup of ambition! We can never be frustrated for too long though, we love the game way too much!
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
