Getting To Know... TEASERS

After establishing themselves with a flurry of bold and anthemic gems these last few months, Italian outfit TEASERS are back once again with their rip-roaring new single 'Dead Flowers'.

Capturing more of that broad and euphoric alt-rock energy they have been developing since they first emerged, 'Dead Flowers' makes for a rousing return for the four-piece. With its raw and driven textures, soaring atmosphere, and mesmerising riffs layered throughout, they are quickly cementing themselves as one of the more exciting names on the rise right now.

So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and what has been inspiring them most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I started with a plastic toy keyboard and then I ate it piece after piece. I was 3 years old.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

We all started from punk rock when we were young. Bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, Blink-182, Green Day, Descendents and many many more. Then everyone of us took different branches but yes, we have a common ground there…

What was the first album you remember owning?

Personally I can say “What’s the story morning glory” by the OASIS [Diego].

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Well probably “GANGNAM STYLE”, not for the music but only for the royalties.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

When we are in our rehearsal room writing songs we always put soft lights, almost in the dark. We really don’t like lights coming from the top of the room, don’t know why haha.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

We are a lot into Turnstile, Viagra Boys, Hives at the moment.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Hives.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Without any doubt when your grandma tells you that your music is cool. Because we are living in an era in which, especially in Italy, nobody gives you a lot of help or motivation. But we have grandmas, we don’t need anybody else.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Everything else except our grandmas.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

If you want to play with bigger bands, always wait for them to finish the soundcheck before you put your stuff on stage. It’s so damn true…
