Gorillaz drop new singles 'Orange County' and 'The Hardest Thing'

Gorillaz climb to new heights with the release of 'Orange County' (feat. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson & Anoushka Shankar) and 'The Hardest Thing' (feat. Tony Allen), the latest double-single from their upcoming album 'The Mountain', out 27th February 2026 on their freshly launched label, KONG.

The two tracks, presented as a connected eight-minute piece, span reflection and revival. 'The Hardest Thing' opens with a poignant voice note from the late Tony Allen, a longtime Gorillaz collaborator, grounding the song in themes of grief and letting go. It flows seamlessly into 'Orange County', an uplifting fusion of alt-pop, electronica and global sounds featuring Argentine producer Bizarrap, acclaimed poet and singer Kara Jackson, and sitar legend Anoushka Shankar.

Produced by Gorillaz and Bizarrap, 'Orange County' captures the spirit of transformation and emotional release at the heart of 'The Mountain', which is shaping up to be one of the band’s most expansive and collaborative projects yet. The record will feature a host of global talent including IDLES, Sparks, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Black Thought, and the voices of past collaborators like Dennis Hopper and Bobby Womack.
