The Graceland Conspiracy embrace the beautiful unpredictability of existence on the newly remastered ‘We Are Chaos’.
The dream-pop project is led by Colin Crooks, whose history includes Northern Irish outfit PBR Streetgang, releases through the legendary Good Vibrations label and his current role in Bad Noise Monster. Yet ‘We Are Chaos’ reveals a considerably more atmospheric side to his songwriting.
Instead of pushing distortion to the foreground, the track creates its world through space, texture and vivid imagery. Stars, moonlight, forests, shorelines and falling rain sit alongside funerals, bruised hearts, dark matter and black-hole horizons, transforming everyday beauty and cosmic enormity into one wonderfully strange celebration of an ever-changing universe.
Crooks handles bass and piano alongside Edelle McMahon's vocals, Paul Wilkinson's guitar, Gary Taylor's drums and Jon McKinley's brass.
