Dublin firebrands Gurriers continue their formidable rise with ‘Nothing Happens Twice’, the latest preview of forthcoming second album 'Nobody’s Coming To Save You', arriving on the 25th September via Play It Again Sam.
Premiered by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 6 Music, the single pairs searing guitars with Dan Hoff’s increasingly exasperated vocal performance, turning the strange realities of contemporary life into another ferocious blast of alternative rock.
Taking inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Gurriers examine a world seemingly trapped in permanent repetition. Political anxiety and online isolation collide with the ‘dead internet’ theory, the suggestion that much of today’s web activity is increasingly generated by automated accounts rather than genuine human interaction.
