Happyness' Benji Compston unveils new project Jelly Boy

After Happyness returned with their critically-acclaimed sophomore album 'Write In' back in 2017, founding member Benji Compston has now unveiled his plans for a new side-project.

Working under the name Jelly Boy, he has now shared the new single 'Give Up And Gamble', which is set to form part of a new EP from the frontman, ‘Everybody Is A Universe’, due out on the 5th April via Cannibal Hymns.

Speaking about his latest cut, he explained, “I wrote this song in L.A. approaching imminent fatherhood. I think it’s probably some kind of twisted-take on ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’, like a self-help-motivational-therapy song for the hopelessly ill-equipped. It’s like trying to play a slot machine in the cold light of day, not noticing it’s unplugged.”
