Hot Chip have unveiled the long-overlooked track ‘So Deep’ as they prepare to revisit a pivotal era of their catalogue with the upcoming reissues of 'The Warning', 'Made In The Dark' and 'One Life Stand'.
Arriving on the 17th July, the expanded editions celebrate a transformative period for the beloved electronic outfit, capturing their rise from cult favourites to one of Britain’s most inventive pop acts. Alongside newly packaged vinyl editions, the releases will include collections of rarities, alternate tracks and hard-to-find recordings, many of which are making their streaming debut.
The newly shared ‘So Deep’ offers another glimpse into the creative energy that surrounded 'Made In The Dark', the band’s acclaimed 2008 breakthrough. Bursting with eccentric synth work, warped grooves and the playful experimentation that became a defining characteristic of the record, the track highlights a group operating with complete creative confidence.
For Hot Chip, 'Made In The Dark' represented a period where boundaries felt largely irrelevant. The band embraced unexpected stylistic turns, combining dancefloor ambition, leftfield electronics and pop songwriting into a sound that felt entirely their own. That adventurous spirit paid off, producing some of the most celebrated moments of their career and helping establish them as one of the most distinctive acts of the era.
