London-based multi-instrumentalist James Garland has released his new single 'It’s love', a deeply personal track written, performed and produced entirely from his home.
Drawing on his background in jazz trumpet and broader instrumental training, Garland brings a detailed and hands-on approach to the release. Every element of the track was self-recorded, including unconventional percussion created using everyday household objects, giving the song a distinctive, organic feel.
It’s love' is inspired by his long-term relationship, with lyrics that reflect commitment, growth and gratitude. Recorded in the London home he shares with his partner, the track carries a strong sense of place, layering vocal harmonies and instrumentation to build a warm, textured sound.
Marking his first release built fully around his own songwriting, the single represents a key moment in his artistic development, combining technical skill with genuine emotional expression.
