James Yorkston announces new album 'The Route To The Harmonium'

Having kept himself busy these last few years as one third of Yorkston/Thorne/Khan as well as releasing his debut novel 'Three Craws' in 2016, James Yorkston has now announced his plans for a new studio album, due out early next year.

The new full-length 'The Route To The Harmonium' will become his first solo work since his 2014 LP 'Cellardyke Recording and Wassailing Society (CRAWS)', was produced alongside regular collaborator David Wrench, and is being previewed by the new single ‘My Mouth Ain’t No Bible’.

Speaking about his new record, the frontman said, “I guess, as a musician and writer, I find myself reacting to what goes on around. So, this album is about life, the life that carries on around me. There’s family, place, and the being away from family that the life of a touring musician brings… But there’s also reference to friends departed – the hows, the whys – When a friend jumps ship it’s always a haymaker to the gut, you know? And this album is about them, but it’s more about us, us who are left behind...”

'The Route To The Harmonium' is set to be released on the 22nd February via Domino Recordings, and you can check out the Edwin Burdis-directed video for 'My Mouth Ain't No Bible' in the player and see the album's full tracklisting below.
