Berlin performance artist Jon Darc steps away from pop's constant demand for attention on ‘Remain’, a beautifully understated new single built around repetition, vulnerability and the inevitability of change.
Following the emotionally charged 'MORAST' EP, ‘Remain’ reveals a markedly quieter side of his work. Whispered vocals drift through analogue textures and hypnotically recurring motifs, creating something that feels closer to a private ritual than a conventional pop song.
At its centre is a fascination with impermanence. ‘Remain’ considers the instinct to preserve people, feelings and moments even as they inevitably slip away, allowing its sparse production to create space for those ideas rather than overwhelming them.
Working across music, performance and visual storytelling, the Berlin-based queer artist draws inspiration from theatre, mythology, nightlife and intimate confession, with fashion, movement and sound frequently becoming parts of the same narrative.
