The rapper sang his hit 'Gold Digger' for the judges

For reasons beyond our understanding, Kanye West dropped into the American Idol audition process over the weekend and decided to pitch himself in the competition.

While everyone clearly knew who he was, he seemed to enjoy himself after singing his 2005 hit 'Gold Digger' for the judges, who of course put him through to the next round.

We have no ideas why or how long Yeezy plans to stay in the competition but it certainly something to behold. Check out footage from the edit suite of the episode below.
