Kate Bush becomes first female artist to have eight albums in the top 40

Since returning to the stage for the first time in 35 years last week, Kate Bush has had a huge surge in sales of her discography, giving eight of her albums places in this week's top 40 album chart.

She is now the first female artist to achieve this feat, last held by Madonna who managed three places in 1987. The only artists to have ever sold more in one week are Elvis Presley, who had twelve albums in the top 40 after his death, and The Beatles, who had eleven after a series of reissues in 2009.

Kate Bush will play a total of 22 shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo over the coming weeks and you can see below for which albums managed to chart this week.
