Kate Nash unveils new single 'GERM'

Kate Nash returns with the blistering new protest anthem 'GERM'. Written in direct response to the UK Supreme Court’s controversial ruling on the legal definition of sex, the track stands as a bold statement of solidarity with the trans community and a fierce rejection of transphobia dressed as feminism.

'GERM' arrives at a time when Nash might have taken a well-earned break, fresh off a sold-out UK and EU tour, and the launch of her first-ever fan-led music survey. But for an artist who’s long championed equality and inclusion, staying silent wasn’t an option.

“Using feminism to erase the rights of others is inherently un-feminist,” Nash explains. “Denying that trans people exist and wanting to remove them from public life because it makes you uncomfortable—that’s not feminism, it’s bigotry.”
