London musician and visual storyteller Alex Kos ventures deeper into the fictional universe of Kavé with ‘Through Waves’, an ambitious second transmission from the project’s imagined planet of Perpetua.
Set in 2325, Kavé follows a figure stranded on a failed human colony, broadcasting fragments of music and memory towards Earth. ‘Through Waves’ develops that concept through a composition structured more like a short filmg, unfolding across three interconnected scenes.
Drawing from progressive rock, dream-pop, psychedelia, electronic music and cinematic scores, Kavé is shaping an intriguing space between record and film, where dialogue, characters and visual ideas are built into the songwriting itself. Rather than simply illustrating the music, ‘Through Waves’ allows both mediums to tell the story together, adding another compelling fragment from a universe that is only beginning to reveal itself.
