Brooklyn-based artist King Princess (Mikaela Straus) returns with her latest single 'Girls', a moody slow-burn from her forthcoming album 'Girl Violence', due out on the 12th September via section1. Following 'RIP KP' and 'Cry Cry Cry', this new track leans into the album’s darker edge, tracing the tension between desire and destruction in a toxic romance.
With raspy vocals, vintage organ swells, and a 1950s-style backup chorus, 'Girls' is equal parts sultry and sorrowful; building to a distorted, chaotic climax that mirrors the emotional unraveling beneath. “Girls. Bring me to my knees,” Mikaela confesses, laying bare the album’s central themes of obsession, chaos, and intimacy.
To mark the release of 'Girl Violence', King Princess is launching a global flash tattoo event on Saturday 13th September, partnering with women- and LGBTQ+-run tattoo shops across North America, Europe, LATAM, and Australia. Custom flash designs inspired by the album’s visuals will be available, and all participants will be entered into a raffle for signed vinyl, merch, and guestlist spots. Donations from the event will go to local LGBTQ+ charities.
