Rising Irish alt-pop artist Liadh (pronounced Lee-ah) returns with her new single 'Control', a darkly shimmering track that blends disco-laced synths with raw emotional weight. It’s the third release from her upcoming debut EP 'Illusions', a project that unpacks the myths we tell ourselves, and the tricks our minds play.
Produced by Lisa Murray, 'Control' finds Liadh in introspective territory, channelling personal struggles into something sonically cathartic. “It’s about my struggle to control my own mind and my search for oblivion,” she shares. “At this time of my life, I was repressing a lot of emotions and coping in unhealthy ways. My search for control ended up controlling me.”
Drawing early comparisons to Kate Bush and Florence Welch, Liadh’s theatrical presence and literary lyricism mark her as a bold new voice. Her background in psychology and multilingual fluency (Irish and French) add further dimension to her art, as she explores themes of sobriety, neurodiversity, and emotional honesty.
