The Libertines Headline Star-Studded Gunnersbury Park Spectacular Summer 2025

Prepare for an evening of unbridled rock 'n' roll revelry as The Libertines take the stage at Gunnersbury Park on August 9th. These iconic trailblazers of the British indie scene will be unleashing their signature blend of swaggering post-Britpop anthems and poetic, reflections on the nation they hold dear with youthful romanticism and hard-earned wisdom.

Returning to one of their spiritual haunts - the stately manor immortalized in the classic heist film "The Lavender Hill Mob" - the quartet will be conjuring the ghosts of their storied past. As frontman Pete Doherty so eloquently put it: "We thought we'd bring the Eastern Esplanade mob and some spiky guitars to that Arcadian glade in West London for a good ol' homecoming knees up."

Joining this pack of romantic yet unruly troubadours will be an impressive supporting cast that reads like a who's who of the UK Indie scene. Oxford's legendary 90s outfit Supergrass will be bringing their infectious brand of alt-rock jubilation, as drummer Danny Goffey reminisces on their past tour with the young upstarts over two decades ago.

Also gracing the stage will be the blistering punk duo Soft Play, the introspective folk stylings of Hak Baker, the Brighton-bred noise of Lambrini Girls, and the scuzzy garage rock of Real Farmer from the Netherlands. It's a veritable buffet of genres and generations, united in their reverence for the enduring appeal of guitar-driven catharsis.

With the recent release of their fourth studio album, All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade, The Libertines have cemented their status as elder statesmen of the indie firmament. But make no mistake - their spirit remains as untamed and youthful as ever, ready to whisk the crowd into a maelstrom of mosh-worthy melodies and poetic abandon. This homecoming is sure to be a night of unbridled revelry, where the ghosts of the past collide with the promise of the future.
