Reading alt-rock duo Lost Velvet have returned with their heaviest release to date, unveiling new single 'Dark Cells', exclusively distributed via Forbury Lion. The track serves as the latest preview of their forthcoming debut album, due later in 2026.
Written and performed by Robert Butcher, alongside joint vocalist Melissa Morris, 'Dark Cells' pairs distorted guitar textures with layered dual vocals and expansive, post-rock rhythms. The band describe the song as an exploration of emotional awakening in an era marked by digital overload and detachment.
The single was produced by Butcher and Morris, mixed by Michael Patterson (How To Destroy Angels, Puscifer), and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Yes), creating a sound that balances weight and atmosphere.
