Lou Reed solo albums set for six-vinyl boxset release

Despite being announced earlier this year, a boxset featuring six of Lou Reed's early solo records has finally been given a release date and is expected to be available later this year.

The set will feature six of his studio albums, including Transformer (1972), Berlin (1973), Rock n Roll Animal (1974), Coney Island Baby (1975), Street Hassle (1978), and The Blue Mask (1982). All fully remastered by the man himself before his passing, and will come packaged in the original artwork on vinyl and a 30-page book featuring unseen photos and memorabilia from his early days.

There will also be a 17 CD set, featuring 16 of Lou Reed's records between 1972-1986, which will go on sale on the 7th October and also be made available as a digital release. The six album vinyl set will be available from the 18th November under the name 'Lou Reed – The RCA & Arista Album Collection, Vol 1'.
