Mandow returns with new single 'Burned Down'

A decade after the release of 'Lost Alliance', Mandow finally returns with ‘Burned Down’, an ambitious blast of theatrical prog-rock that has been more than ten years in the making.

The project of Hungarian composer and multi-instrumentalist András Barják, Mandow first began writing the track in 2015. After abandoning it twice, he eventually found the missing pieces in Colombian drummer Juan Guillermo Aguilar Bayer (Cosito) and South African vocalist Gregory Van Kerkhof, allowing the song to finally reach completion in 2026.

Where 'Lost Alliance' explored slow, melancholic territory, ‘Burned Down’ goes considerably bigger. Fuzzy Hammond organ, Mellotron, stacked harmonies and Van Kerkhof's soaring tenor vocals create a wonderfully old-school prog spectacle, before a Scandinavian doom-flavoured bridge pulls everything somewhere darker.

Unashamedly indebted to the adventurous spirit of 70s prog while retaining a playful, knowingly theatrical personality, ‘Burned Down’ proves Mandow's decade-long absence hasn't diminished András Barják's appetite for making something gloriously excessive.
