Atlanta-born artist MatAre continues his steady rise within the international post-punk scene with the release of 'Dancing With The Spirits', a brooding new single that further refines his atmospheric songwriting. Created from his studio in Fort Myers, Florida, the track blends driving rhythms, shadowy melodies and cinematic production into one of his most accomplished recordings to date.
Inspired by a guitar motif that first gained traction on TikTok, the song grew into a fully realised composition after listeners connected with its haunting atmosphere. Built around nocturnal imagery and recurring coastal themes, 'Dancing With The Spirits' evokes an otherworldly scene, while understated backing vocals from Argentine artist Denisse Ferrara add an ethereal dimension to the arrangement.
As with much of his catalogue, MatAre handled the writing, performance and production himself, joined once again by South African drummer Glenn Welman, with longtime collaborator Gabe Wolf overseeing the final mix.
