Dublin’s own Megan Burke is back and pulling no punches with 'Medium Ugly'. Known for her razor wit and rich, soulful vocals, Burke swaps heartbreak balladry for brutal honesty, calling out the all-too-familiar brand of “average Joe” with style, sass, and zero sympathy.
Co-produced by Jessica Foxx Richardson and featuring Burke’s signature blend of R&B, disco-pop, and soul, the track lands like a cheeky uppercut to fragile male egos.
“Medium ugly is about how I always attract the same type of mediocre average-looking men", she says. "They all turn out to be the same person in different fonts / clothes. I don’t ever wanna sit down and write a blubbery song about how men have hurt me so I will always find a way to say what I want to say but with a sarcastic or humorous twist. I don’t want a loser that I went out with sitting in his mam’s box room listening to my songs and thinking they hurt me, instead I want them to be offended and embarrassed lol.”
Already a viral favourite with millions of views across platforms, 'Medium Ugly' reaffirms Megan Burke’s reputation as one of Ireland’s most fearless, funny, and vocally commanding artists. A revenge song that smirks rather than sulks, it’s catharsis with a kick.
