MELTS announce debut album 'Maelstrom'

Following on from the release of their brilliant debut single 'Maelstrom' near the end of last year, Dublin-based outfit MELTS have now announced their plans for their debut studio album, arriving in the coming months.

The new full-length, also called 'Maelstrom', is being previewed by the new lead single 'Outlier', which comes accompanied by a brilliant new video directed by A Parkes, and is set to be released on the 13th May via Mother Sky.

Speaking about the new offering, frontman Eoin Kenny said, “Outlier is about the imaginable distance between objects in space and how leaving one way of life and moving on to another life falling into space, into the void. The title refers to an object or person existing at a distance from the centre of the system.”

While Parkes added about the video, “Sonically and lyrically the music is very big and cinematic, so I used an old anamorphic lens to get that classic cinema look and aspect ratio. The sci-fi inspired set was built to stage the claustrophobic internal struggle, while showing a glimpse of bigger world outside.”
