After spending much of last year turning out a wealth of rich and enigmatic offerings, New York-based artist John Beckmann aka Mortal Prophets capped off his 2023 with the atmospheric LP 'GUITARWORKS'.
Exploring a multitude of broad and immersive aesthetics for his recent album, this new ten-track collection makes for a beautifully warm and endearing listen. Focusing on the subtle guitar playing which has encapsulated his material to date, 'GUITARWORKS' stands as a wondrous listen, brimming with rich and enchanting textures throughout.
While these last few years have certainly been incredibly busy for him, 'GUITARWORKS' shows that he is still managing to pursue and develop new and fascinating ideas for himself. With a bright and alluring approach to his production at every turn, we can't wait to hear what his 2024 will sound like as well.
