Montréal multidisciplinary artist Musroe creates a fascinating journey from emotional suffocation to sudden stillness on ‘Left2Rot / Now’, a striking two-track release introducing forthcoming EP 'EPHEMERA'.
The interconnected songs capture opposite sides of one experience: becoming completely consumed by a feeling before eventually emerging from it and realising that the moment you thought might last forever has already passed.
‘Left2Rot’ provides the turbulent first half. Originally developed from an old guitar demo, Musroe dismantled and reconstructed the track until little of its initial form remained. Increasingly urgent vocals intertwine with restless electric guitars, gradually tightening the atmosphere before the entire arrangement suddenly falls away.
From that collapse emerges ‘Now’. Created by layering four guitar parts through a looper pedal and dramatically slowing them down, the track floats through gorgeous ambient dream-pop textures, replacing its predecessor's claustrophobia with space, reflection and quiet relief.
Following the multidisciplinary world surrounding 2025 EP 'TAKE ME AS I AM, I’ll Love You As You Are', ‘Left2Rot/Now’ feels like another compelling evolution. Brief, beautifully fluid and wonderfully immersive, the two tracks disappear almost as quickly as the emotions they're attempting to capture.
