Following on from the release of their highly-praised 2019 LP 'I Am Easy To Find', The National have now announced their plans for a new studio album, arriving in the coming months.
The new full-length 'First Two Pages Of Frankenstein' will feature collaborations with Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sufjan Stevens, is being previewed by the new lead single 'Tropic Morning News', and is set to be released on the 28th April via 4AD.
Speaking about the new offering, the band's Aaron Dessner said, "When Matt came in with that song in the depths of his depression, it felt like a turning point for us. It’s almost Dylan-esque in its lyrics and it’s so much fun to play; everything suddenly felt like it was coming alive again."
While frontman Matt Berninger added, "The idea of referring to the darkness of the news in such a light way unlocked something in me. It became a song about having a hard time expressing yourself, and trying to connect with someone when the noise of the world is drowning out any potential for conversation."
