Personal Trainer announce new album 'Human Assholes'

Dutch indie collective Personal Trainer have announced their new album 'Human Assholes', arriving on the 4th September via Bella Union, alongside the release of its first single, 'Punch Drunk Love'.

The new track finds the band leaning into their offbeat charm once again, pairing loose-limbed indie-rock energy with a warm sense of emotional sincerity. Borrowing its title from the Punch-Drunk Love film by Paul Thomas Anderson, the song explores the dizzying intensity of infatuation and the thin line between affection and obsession.

Frontman Willem Smit is joined on the track by Susanne Linssen of Hospital Bombers alongside former member Franti Maresova, adding another layer to the song’s playful and heartfelt atmosphere.

Serving as the follow-up to 2024’s acclaimed 'Still Willing', the forthcoming 15-track record promises another expansive and unpredictable collection from one of Europe’s most inventive guitar bands.
