Petit Biscuit - 'Presence'

7/10

We first locked on to the sound of Petit Biscuit last year, shortly after he dropped his debut self-titled EP. Mixing up the idea of a producer with experimental undertones and a calming disposition, we knew that this guy was going to head on to bigger things very soon. Fast forward to now and the Frenchman has now delivered his debut album 'Presence', a record that continues that adventurous direction throughout a whole range of influences.

With a clear flair for an RnB-style inspiration, Petit Biscuit seems to want to develop a reputation has someone who releases more thought-provoking beats, cutting his own sound in the industry in the process. This new record likes to skirt the peripheries of an EDM producer by adding a more minimal edge, unleashing explosions of loud synths but keeping the bass and rhythm fairly measured, resulting in a very euphoric sounding album.

We have certainly not changed our minds about him, now that his first full-length has made its way out. And at just 17-years-old, he is one of the most interesting proteges we have heard all year. Clear and precise, 'Presence' will definitely make an impression on you once you hear it.
