Edinburgh rock outfit Pray Silence continue their formidable introduction with ‘Liminalland’, the third single from a project bringing together enormous riffs, anthemic melody and a distinctly sardonic edge.
Following debut ‘Dragon of Chaos’ and its successor ‘Kill Room', the new release further establishes the collaboration between singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marky Wildtype and multidisciplinary artist Sam Siggs, also known as Pillowfight Cenobite and Wes Linton of garage-punk outfit The Head Henchmen.
The result is a wonderfully muscular strain of alternative rock, combining intricate arrangements and propulsive energy with huge guitars and choruses built to land with serious impact. Touchpoints including Biffy Clyro, Arcane Roots, Fightstar and Jamie Lehman offer some indication of the territory, while the band's sharp lyricism gives the material an identity of its own.
