A Project Called Love returns with new single 'Chicago'

Venice-based artist A Project Called Love brings an unlikely combination of influences together on new single ‘Chicago’.

The solo project of Cologne-raised musician Jay Hope, A Project Called Love refuses to settle comfortably within a single genre. ‘Chicago’ makes that philosophy immediately apparent, bringing lively ska rhythms and brass together with gritty alt-rock, punk energy and an ear for an instantly memorable indie-pop hook.

But behind that colourful sound is a straightforward story of unexpected romance. He wrote the track after meeting someone during a short stay in Chicago and quickly falling for her, turning those few days into a bright snapshot of excitement and possibility.

With Nirvana and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones among its reference points, ‘Chicago’ is an energetic third release from a project increasingly defined by its willingness to ignore conventional musical boundaries.
