Detroit post-punk mainstays Protomartyr have announced their seventh studio album 'Hotel Usona', arriving on the 25th September via Domino, alongside the release of its lead single, 'Sounds We Cannot Hear'.
Recorded with acclaimed producer Dave Fridmann at Tarbox Road Studios, the forthcoming album continues the band's uncompromising examination of contemporary life. The new single pairs Joe Casey's distinctive spoken-sung delivery with an expansive instrumental backdrop, exploring themes of digital overload, isolation and the slow erosion of modern existence.
Musically, 'Sounds We Cannot Hear' broadens Protomartyr's already distinctive sound, incorporating unexpected influences and cinematic arrangements while retaining the tension and intensity that have defined the band's catalogue over the past two decades. The track arrives with a new video starring actor and comedian Nate Varrone.
