Public Enemy drop surprise album 'Black Sky Over The Projects: Apartment 2025'

Legendary hip-hop trailblazers Public Enemy have stunned fans with the surprise release of their new album 'Black Sky Over the Projects: Apartment 2025'. The twelve-track project is available now exclusively via Bandcamp, offered for the next 72 hours on a pay-what-you-want basis as a tribute to their global fanbase.

Landing on the same day as their sold-out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the album sees Chuck D and Flavor Flav delivering their signature blend of political fire, sonic force, and cultural insight. The record arrives just before the group joins Guns N’ Roses on tour across Europe, with further US festival dates booked through the rest of 2025.

'Black Sky Over the Projects' doesn’t hold back. It’s a raw, urgent dispatch from hip-hop’s conscience, tackling systemic injustice, political disillusionment, and societal decay while also honouring the artform that made it all possible. Tracks like 'Here Come The Drums' and 'Get Down' serve as celebratory nods to the enduring power of rhythm and resistance, while 'March Madness' bristles with timely urgency.

“This album is a give back to all of our fans with gratitude and appreciation,” says Chuck D. “We see and appreciate you.” Flavor Flav adds, “We’re bringing our beats to the world on this tour and with this album. So if you can’t get yourself to the stadiums and the festivals, then these new tracks are for you to get down to at home.”

With 'Black Sky Over the Projects', Public Enemy reaffirm their place in the pulse of today’s protest soundtrack. For fans old and new, this is a moment worth grabbing, and for the next 72 hours, it’s yours to name your price.
