Rachel Chinouriri reveals a darker, more sensual side of her songwriting on ‘Make believe’, the latest glimpse of forthcoming second album 'I think I spoke too soon'.
Arriving ahead of the record's 16th October release through Parlophone Records, ‘Make believe’ surrounds her unmistakable vocals with a darkly shimmering backdrop while digging into the complicated relationship between desire, insecurity and self-worth.
What initially feels empowering gradually reveals something considerably more vulnerable. Chinouriri explains that the song explores masking insecurity with obsession, repeatedly compromising personal boundaries and continuing to give somebody access to you despite knowing the relationship is damaging.
