Sixteen-year-old Irish songwriter Sarah Casey introduces herself with remarkable emotional depth on debut single 'Blind Eye'.
Hailing from County Kildare, Casey crafts folk-rooted songs shaped by landscape, memory and lived experience, writing with a level of empathy and maturity far beyond her years. Her connection to Achill Island, a place she returns to for solitude and inspiration, quietly runs through her songwriting, giving the music a strong sense of atmosphere and emotional grounding.
'Blind Eye' tackles addiction and the damaging judgement often directed toward those struggling with it, instead advocating compassion, patience and understanding. It’s a striking subject for such a young artist to approach, made even more powerful by the clarity and sincerity of her writing.
Produced by John Leader Productions and developed alongside mentor Eimear Crehan, 'Blind Eye' offers an impressive first glimpse into an artist already writing with rare honesty and emotional intelligence.
