North Carolina singer-songwriter Scott Lowder returns to material that has followed him for more than a decade with his deeply personal new single ‘Ghost of You’.
Originally written following the death of one of his closest friends in an accident, the song began with little more than an acoustic guitar and an attempt to process what had happened. Although written quickly, he spent years waiting until he felt able to record the track in a way that reflected its significance.
Blending alternative folk, Americana and heartland rock, ‘Ghost of You’ pairs warm acoustic instrumentation with spacious production and an understated vocal performance. But rather than dwelling solely on grief, the song considers how people remain present through memories and the lasting influence they have on our lives.
