Sean T MacLeod unveils new single 'Light Up The Sun'

Irish songwriter Sean T MacLeod continues an incredibly productive 2026 with the release of his uplifting new single ‘Light Up the Sun’, a bright, melody-rich track arriving alongside an ambitious run of upcoming projects.

Serving as a standalone companion piece to his recently released album 'That’s When the Earth Becomes a Star', the new single leans into Sean’s love of timeless pop songwriting, blending warm harmonies and classic influences with his thoughtful lyrical approach. Carrying echoes of sixties-inspired songwriting and sun-soaked melodic charm, ‘Light Up the Sun’ arrives as a feel-good soundtrack for the summer months.

A founding member of Dublin band Cisco, Sean previously worked with former U2 producer Paul Barrett and gained widespread acclaim in Ireland through the band’s celebrated album No 1. Since moving into solo work, he has steadily built an extensive catalogue spanning multiple albums and singles, combining pop sensibilities with folk, orchestral and experimental ideas.

Alongside 'That’s When the Earth Becomes a Star', he is also preparing to unveil the more avant-garde project 'We Don’t See That We Don’t See', while another album titled 'Magic' is already scheduled for release later this autumn.
